Ending Tour with a Google Notification

Hello All,
It was an amazing 2 weeks, but sadly our days on the road with Lydia, PlayRadioPlay!, and Eye Alaska have come to a close. We made some outstanding friends and sincerely hope we're able to hit the road with any of these bands in the near future. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the Stay Awake Tour and all who bought cd's and asked us to sign posters- you really made this tour very special for us.

Additionally, Mr. Capra found this earlier today and it's pretty amazing: Where Are They Now: Mr. Dooley

You can go to sleep now : )

Staying Awake vs. Being Kept Awake...

So it's been quite a while since we've updated our blog so I thought I'd take the time to post some news straight from the front line. We're dipping into the second week of the Stay Awake Tour with Lydia, PlayRadioPlay, and Eye Alaska and couldn't be happier to be on board. Tonight we're stationed at El Corazon in BEAUTIFUL Seattle, WA. Every time I come here it's near impossible to leave.

The tour has been going very well thus far, two back to back sold-out shows- Anaheim, and our hometown: San Francisco. The crowds were amazing and made us feel very welcome. Last night, however, Eye Alaska invited us to hang with them in their hotel room for a while; naturally we accepted. I returned to the van to grab something when the hotel owner approached me and began interrogating me about our business there. I assured him we wouldn't be spending the night in his parking lot and together with Eye Alaska's tour manager we were able to get him to leave us be. About 10 minutes later a woman from the front desk came rushing into the parking lot lecturing on how we were "defrauding Travelodge" by having our van parked in their vacant parking lot. Without confrontation we left and set out for the nearest Walmart to spend the night. As we pull into the parking lot we were approached by a security guard who informed us that the particular Walmart we'd chosen does not allow customers to stay in their lots overnight but that there was another Walmart 3 miles down the road (because this is America...) So once again, we set out for a place to crash, Eye Alaska's TM following us in the EA van.

When we'd finally settled into bed and had some time to fall asleep (it was about 3:30am by this point) I was awakened by a bright light shining into the van and a knock on our door. Apparently someone had called the police b/c they thought they'd seen a 'half-naked woman in distress trying to crawl out of our van.' Stacy (our TM) being the only female on board- and who was fully clothed for the record- assures the officer she was in the BC mobile on her own free will. The officer asked Jarred, who was sleeping in the "dungeon" (the area beneath the loft in the back of our van) if he had any half-naked women down there with him, to which he replied: "I wish."

The officers loitered outside of the van for a while before pulling a Supertrooper stunt and driving around in the Walmart parking lot with their sirens buzzing for about 3 minutes. After they left I realized the 'woman in distress' was none other than a shirt-less Jarred Dooley whom an hour earlier had struggled getting in and out of the dungeon through the rear door in the van. With his long shaggy hair in a pony tail, he was the 'victim' someone decided was worth calling the cops for. We awoke at 10 after a rough night and hastily left Portland.

I'm dropping a few pics in here, nothing too exciting, but just a little taste of where we are and what we're doing!

A Little Bit of Southern Hospitality

Hey y'all,

I am writing to you from the luxurious pool-side paradise that is the Clarion Hotel & Suites courtyard and while I wish we were here as guests, we are in fact here to steal internet and make use of their fancy restrooms. Everything has been going incredibly well. The people in the south, from Texas, through Louisiana and Georgia have been the kindest and most generous people we've ever met. Saturday night's show at the SoHo Bar & Grill in Columbus, GA yielded fruitful earnings and a variety of intoxicated shout-outs, including 4-5 requests to play Nirvana... A kind soul handed us 4 shots of Jose Cuervo while on stage for the first time ever, Brave Citizens all took a drink together between songs.

I'm going to pull a little Tarantino here and jump back a few days to New Orleans, Louisiana- which has to be within the top 3 most fantastic places any of us have ever been. We hit the streets in the early evening before load in and had a few rounds on Mr. Dooley. An awesome friend/fan of the band drove from Houston to N.O. to share the night with us as well. The 3 laaaamest members of BC decided to be ULTRA SF and shave their faces down to a mustache. The show went well and we made some awesome new friends, a few of which whom will be moving to California very soon.

Wish I could write more, but life on the road demands constant relocation.

Day 5...Trouble, Already??

This is probably the saddest way I could ever imagine starting tour.. 2 days in I (adam) have developed a nasty case of the stomach flu and unfortunately I've had to take 2 nights off from performing. The band has been going on as a 3 piece and I'm so grateful for their aide and support in my recovery. I'm hoping to be back to 100% by tomorrow or Monday at the latest, but this is worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. Despite the setback, shows have been going well and the band - including myself - are in very high spirits. Only 2 months left, better enjoy every minute of it!

In the meantime, Pray for Mojo.

REVOLUTIONS NATIONAL TOUR 2009

Hey folks, I'm writing to entry from Sin City - fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada - the second stop on our national tour.  We played at Key Club in Hollywood last night to an absolutely outstanding crowd.  We're in very good spirits and we'll be stretching our legs over the next 15,000+ miles through the cold and heat. Please feel free to send any questions/comments our way by sending the band an e-mail at band@bravecitizens.com or by visiting our myspace page. We've had a lot of positive press to build up the tour and couldn't be happier.

We'll also be regularly posting video updates as well as live footage.  You can check out our performance at the Key Club below...
